Contributing Writers

Eat Boutique is recruiting writers to join our bunch. If you love the handmade, homespun food movement as much as we do, we want to hear from you.

At Eat Boutique, we give readers an in-depth story about an inspired boutique experience in food, businesses that showcase authenticity and true old-fashioned hospitality. The stories should be special and detailed, such that they inspire a reader to weave them into their travels and permit us to string them into a guide to a particular region, area or city.

Your story could be about any of the following general topics, but must always include a recipe that you’ve tested multiple times:

* Authentic dining experiences, including boutique restaurants
* Food products that are made in small batches, by hand
* Kitchen products that are crafty, modern and fashionable
* Artisans who care, really care, about quality
* And, as always, a recipe inspired by any of the above

The site features products, dining experiences and artisans from everywhere, with a particular emphasis on both coasts (the Northeast, San Francisco and Pacific Northwest) but we’re open to any spots that are popular with travelers. The max length should be ~500 words, but less is fine. Ideally, you’d also include some yummy links within your post, preferably to products, restaurants, background information and other writers.

What’s in it for you? We’re, unfortunately, not paying per post at this time. We will, however, help you hone your craft, expose you to all the food submissions and new product information we get, feature your biography on this very site and treat you to yummy meals whenever possible.

If you’re interested in joining the Eat Boutique team, please email Maggie with links to your social media presence (your blog, Twitter, etc.), your online resume and one writing sample. Please take a look at the tone and style of the site, and ensure your sample fit into the site’s personality. Candidates must be available to jump right in and be available for a minimum duration of six months, and willing to write a piece once per month.

Contributing Photographers

In addition to writers, Eat Boutique is seeking contributing photographers (whether amateur or professional) to join the team.

Eat Boutique is a relaxed, tiny labor of love, but we require efficiency, reliability and respect for the process of producing an online magazine. You must be fluent in English. You must showcase a unique design aesthetic and proactive traits. You must be reliable, have a passion for the web and have acute attention to detail. Candidates must be available to jump right in and be available for a minimum duration of three months.

If you are interested in joining us you should email Maggie with your online portfolio, a link to your blog or website and a brief paragraph on why you should be considered for our team.
