Have you finished all your holiday shopping yet? Sadly, my answer to that is no.

This time last year, I had every present accounted for and wrapped under a decked out tree. This year… well… I’ve been busy launching a holiday gift box (among too many other things). I’m not worried though. On Sunday, I plan to cross most gifts needed off my list by visiting Boston’s Bazaar Bizarre to support some amazing local artisans.

Bazaar Bizarre started in our very own Boston in 2001 as a way for crafty indie businesses to sell their DIY wares in a fun, entertaining venue. The event now takes place in 3 cities each holiday season, just in time for procrastinating shoppers to stock up on gifts they can feel good about. Bazaar Bizarre may not sell food (except for the sweet food court) but does totally represent the “boutique” mission of this site. This event is a way for you to meet the person who made your scarf, handbag, toy, kitchenware, soap, coaster, illustration, t-shirt, jewelry, pottery, and more. You help them pay their bills and make more art. You get fabulous and special gifts for your loved ones. That kinda sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Hope to see you there, at the Boston Cyclorama, 539 Tremont Street, on Sunday, December 6th, from noon-7pm. Admission is $1. Get their early or late to avoid the long lines.
