Who you calling old? Maybe its up to us (the still young generation) to teach and inspire the younger :) It's certainly inspiring to read your tales in search of finding local/organic and reducing your carbon footprint - you go girl! I'm waiting for your book to come out...

You're so right, Emily. I should have clarified that I've met so many young people who are passionate about this topic, but was simply surprised to come across someone so not into it at a type of farmer's market. I think, overall, the younger generation is passionate about organic foods (and hopefully, local), and this young person I met at Calareso's was more random than anything else.

I actually find all the younger people in my large family have convinced the older generations to shop smarter, and really probe food origins!

Keep it up & keep sharing!

As a 20-something, I guess I'd like to say that we're not all the same. As difficult as it was in my last year of college, I still cooked 90% unprocessed foods and searched out organic and local foods whenever possible. This spring I was counting down the days until my local farmer's market was open and except for staples will be shopping there for the rest of the summer. We're not all like this, but I'm not alone and some of us are trying to promote and convince our families and friends as well.
